SAP Basis Setup, Integrate with Middleware & DR setup

Challenge

Streamline their resource scheduling and management process by implementing the MRS (Multi Resource Scheduling) module on their SAP S/4HANA system. Integrate their S/4HANA system with PO (Process Orchestration) middleware and set up a System Monitor Capability as part of their landscape. Additionally, they required a Disaster Recovery (DR) setup to ensure business continuity.

Solution

• Installation of Hana DB: HDBLCM was used to install the Hana DB on a Linux server hosted on AWS. S/4HANA 2020 was then installed using SWPM along with the MRS add-on.
• Installation of SAP Netweaver Java System: The CTC (Central Technical Configuration) wizard was run to set up the PO system. The SAP Netweaver Java 7.5 system was installed on the Hana database, and integration was established with the S/4HANA system to enable communication between the two systems.
• Installation of Solution Manager: Solution Manager 7.2 was installed on the Hana 2.0 database. The S/4HANA and PO satellite systems were integrated with the Solution Manager for system monitoring setup.
• Disaster Recovery (DR) Setup: A secondary site was identified, and the Hana database was installed on it. Replication was established between the primary and secondary sites to ensure data consistency and business continuity in the event of a disaster.

Result

• The MRS module enabled the client to efficiently schedule and manage their resources, leading to improved productivity and better customer satisfaction.
• The integration between S4HANA and PO middleware ensured smooth data flow between the two systems.
• The System Monitor Capability provided by Solution Manager helped the client monitor the health and performance of their SAP landscape, enabling them to quickly identify and resolve issues.
• The DR setup provided an additional layer of protection, ensuring business continuity in the event of a disaster and minimizing downtime.
