SAP ECC Integration with FactoryTalk – Automobile Sector

Challenge

Requirement is to integrate SAP ECC with FactoryTalk MES for: Production controls, materials management in factory stores, and purchase orders and Goods receipts through middleware as the factory workers do not have any access to SAP ECC.

Solution

• SAP PI/PO used as middleware for seamless integration of processes.
• Production order flow from SAP to MES.
• Materials consumptions and production confirmation flow from MES to SAP.
• Purchase orders / Shipment notifications from SAP to MES as pro forma Goods receipts.
• Shopfloor Stocks information flow from MES to SAP.

Result

• Redundant data entry is completely removed as SAP information automatically flow to MES and vice versa from MES to SAP.
• Interfaces are implemented for the real time data synchronisation between SAP and MES.
• All the SAP relevant data made available on MES since the factory users do not have SAP access.
